FAQ

A: The maximum number of colors that is possible for a patch is 18 colors.  However, past 9 colors the price of the embroidered patch will significantly increase.  Almost all of our competitors charge extra after 7 colors.  We use the best embroidery machines, Tajima machines, which allows us to offer our customers with up to 9 colors free of charge.

A: We offer a wide assortment of twill background colors for our embroidered patches.  In fact we are confident that we can match virtually any color or pantone color.Visit our Twill Colors Page to view our available twill colors.

A: We offer fully embroidered patches and embroidered patches that are sewn onto twill.  Generally we recommend 100% embroidered patches because they have a more substantial look and feel to them.  However, 100% embroidered patches are more expensive, and are not conducive to all designs.  Our sales representative can help you determine whether or not your design is conducive to a 100% embroidered patch or not.  If your patch is not 100% embroidered we determine pricing, by determining if your patch is 75% to 99% embroidered (a 75% embroidered patch), and if the patch appears to be embroidered less than 75%, then we classify it as a 50% embroidered patch.  50% embroidered patches are obviously less expensive.

A: We can do any shape and virtually any size.  The largest patch that we did was over 24 inches.

A: At Patches by The/Studio everything we do is completely customized and we pride ourselves on doing everything that is humanly possible to build an embroidered patch according to our customer's requirements.  Very rarely there will be certain limitations on text and shape, but even if there are limitations we will work on a solution to meet your needs.  Let your sales representative know your needs and we are confident that we will find a solution.

A: Technically your embroidered patch does not require a border.  However, without a border the edges will look frayed.  Some customers like this look as it creates a vintage look.  Otherwise we recommend that you choose a border for your embroidered patch.  Furthermore, if you choose an embroidered patch that is less than 100% embroidery, we recommend that the border of your patch, match the twill color that the patch is sewn onto.  This will create a much cleaner effect.

A: Yes. Our production team has years of experience in matching the correct thread color with the pantone color that you choose for us.  Our sales representative can also assist you in discussing the correct colors for your embroidered patch product.

A: An Embroidered Patch is a piece of artwork created thru an embroidery machine using materials such as cotton twill and different colour threads.  It conveys a theme, event or logo that commemorates the users’ message.

Embroidered emblems and patches are a great way to put your design or insignia on a garment without applying the decoration directly to the garment. These emblems & patches are generally produced on a heavy twill fabric with a smooth texture.

In most cases a portion of the underlying twill becomes the background for the design, and a variety of thread colors make up the details of the design. There is a decorative stitch that overlays the edge of the twill fabric to make your custom embroidered emblem.

Embroidered emblems and custom patches are commonly produced for outerwear, clothing and accessories. They work great for uniforms, caps, jackets and golf shirts when you want maximum recognition and exposure. We use the highest quality fabrics and threads to make your embroidered emblems and patches.
