Working in custom manufacturing, there is no shortage of awe-inspiring creations. I am surrounded by new fashion concepts and fresh ideas every day. The thought of a daring design or intricate arrangements brings me to life! This might sound rather dramatic to you, but that is exactly what fashion is, it is drama; beauty and art, all mixed together to create a visual masterpiece.
Being the fashion enthusiast that I am, pop culture has always played a major role in my fashion evolution. Since I was a little girl, pop culture has always been there to help me navigate the world of fashion faux pas and fashion success. There have been several fashion fairy godmothers (as I like to call them), that have really shaped my sense of style. Here is a list of my all-time favorite fashion icons; past and present:
Whatever this woman wore, she made it sexy! Her wardrobe was quite daring during the 50’s, however she still managed to have an innocence about her. That is very hard to accomplish!
Audrey Hepburn had so many amazing fashion moments, it’s hard to choose one! But I have to say my favorite of all of her looks is in the movie, “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”.
Brigitte Bardot’s style can be described as casual chic. She always looks sophisticated, yet comfortable.
Diana Ross was the 70’s queen! She had it all; big hair, long lashes and sequins.
These best friends were definitely the best dressed at their high school. Their plaid outfits and matching accessories make me want to go back to the 90’s.
I don’t care who your favorite “Sex and the City” character was, we can all agree, Carrie Bradshaw took the most fashion risk and gained the most fashion rewards. Don’t even get me started on the shoes…
They didn’t call her Posh Spice for nothing. Everything about her is posh!
I can’t call Zoe Kravitz a icon yet, but she is well on her way. Her father is Lenny Kravitz, I suppose that’s where she gets her good looks and fashion from. Her mother, Lisa Benet, isn’t too shabby either!
