The/Studio: Introduce yourself. Tell our readers a little bit about who you are!
Jackie: I am a life long artist in one genre or another. My background spans from Commercial Photography to Graphic Design and Fashion Design. I began sewing at an early age and over the years others have requested that I make them pieces that I made. And as it happens, I fell into Fashion Design and launched my line, R.J. Luna more than 4 years ago.
The/Studio: I love the name of your brand! What kind of brand is R.J. Luna?
Jackie: R.J. Luna is an upscale women’s apparel line serving discerning clients worldwide.
The/Studio: What have you learned since starting R.J. Luna?
Jackie: I have learned how to trust my own instincts and yet still keep my ears open to the wisdom that other successful individuals are willing to share.
The/Studio: That’s good advice! What about R.J. Luna you most proud of
Jackie: I am most proud of my work. I am meticulous in my designs and construction and many of our pieces have been custom designed for our clients.
The/Studio: That’s impressive! What are some of the greatest challenges you face with your business?
Jackie: As with many businesses I’m sure, resources can be challenging to continue to grow our business. Beyond that, our biggest obstacle is gaining name and brand recognition in a saturated market. Our charge is to offer the chicest and finest apparel to our clients and creatively stay true to who we are.
The/Studio: Where do you see R.J. Luna in 10 years?
Jackie: I have every expectation that we will be direct retailing through catalog and internet to women around the globe by the 10 year mark.
The/Studio: What type of legacy do you want to leave?
Jackie: I want to let young ladies know that women can attain any goal that they are passionate about but it will take dedication and resilience to stay focused. Mentoring, educating, empowering and uplifting the spirit of the youth, as well as inspiring them to pass this on to others, is really what I would like my legacy to be.
The/Studio: That’s wonderful! What is the story behind the custom product that you produced with The/Studio?
Jackie: I launched my line, R.J. Luna over four years ago under a more sleepwear targeted market and as such our labels were romantic in nature. It quickly became apparent that our clients wanted us to do more day and evening and we listened. We are now rebranding under the same name but a new logo and more sophisticated, chic and modern presence in the marketplace. The/Studio was a perfect company to produce our new garment labels and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results.
The/Studio: Thank you for the kind words! How are you going to use this custom product?
Jackie: The garment labels will be sewn into the seam allowances of our designs.
The/Studio: Describe the custom product and what does it mean?
Jackie: We chose The Studio to produce our custom garment labels. These labels are used to identify our apparel and separate us from another designer. The woven labels will accompany all of our designs.
Thank you Jackie for sharing your story with us! Your clothes are absolutely beautiful! We wish R.J. Luna much success!
