This week’s Customer of the Week comes to us from California. Meet the Turbo Jugend, Surf City California Chapter. If you don’t know who they are, you will soon find out!
The/Studio: Introduce yourself. Tell our readers a little bit about who you are!
Danielle: We are Turbo Jugend, Surf City California Chapter, and we are a social club that LOVES Turbo Negro’s music. We are just one out of many hundreds of Turbo Jugend clubs around the globe; our sole purpose is to have fun together, listen to music – get together as often as possible and never tolerate fascist or racist behavior. You can check out the main website for the clubs at: www.turbojugend.net/pg/home.php?k_id=7 or the music itself at http://www.turbonegro.com/
The/Studio: I love what your club stands for! That’s awesome! I am going to have to check out their music now! What have you learned since joining the Turbo Jugend Club?
Danielle: I have learned that there are SO many really interesting and kind people out there (you CANNOT judge a book by its cover – if you do, you are missing all the best chapters!), and that a social club like this is the PERFECT way to meet new people and share like interests.
The/Studio: That is very true about never judging a book by it’s cover. That is something everyone should learn! What about your club are you most proud of?
Danielle: We are most proud of representing the music we love and sharing a great, fun and open attitude towards others.
The/Studio: That is something to be proud of! What are some of the greatest challenges you face with your club?
Danielle: No challenges thus far – just wish we had more time to get together!
The/Studio: Great answer! Where do you see your club in 10 years?
Danielle: This organization can only grow as the music is always gaining new fans.
The/Studio: What type of legacy do you want to leave?
Danielle: We would love to introduce the TurboNegro music to as many people as we can and share this cool club vibe and fun attitude with others.
The/Studio: I am so excited to listen to TurboNegro! What is the story behind the custom product that you produced with The/Studio?
Danielle: We worked as a group to come up with a design we all liked (it took a while), I have to credit our member Jay, or “Turbo Jaygro” his club name – for the finished design. We doodled and emailed each other many incarnations, lots of color options – but ended up with something that really represented Surf City, CA
The/Studio: Hahaha. Great club name! How are you going to use this custom patch?
Danielle: We are going to wear it proudly on our club kutte (jacket) and share with every other Turbo Jugend club out there (it’s a custom to share club patches with each other and collect them on your jacket) – we have already sent our new patches to clubs in Germany, Belgium and across the U.S. – they were very excited to get them!
The/Studio: That’s awesome! Describe the custom patch and what it means?
Danielle: This was a way to show pride in our club and have some fun – and it’s such a cool way to meet people. If you see another Turbo Jugend member on the street (easy to spot as we all wear the same jacket!) then you MUST go up and say hello (it’s a rule) – and then you can trade patches if you have them!
The/Studio: What a great rule! Do you have any promotions you would like to offer our community?
Danielle: Not really, but we invite others to check out the music http://www.turbonegro.com/ and check out our club Facebook page – just search “Turbojugend Surf City”
The/Studio: Do you have any upcoming events that our community members can attend?
Danielle: We will be attending (as will many other Turbo Jugend clubs) Punk Rock Bowling in Las Vegas in May, 2015 – Turbo Negro is on the lineup – check out all the fun things to do that weekend http://punkrockbowling.com/
Thank you Turbo Jugend Surf City Charter for sharing your story with us. Turbo Negro is lucky to have such loyal and amazing fans!
