PSRT to the Rescue! April 27, 2015
Our Customer of the Week Interview with PSRT
The/Studio: Introduce yourself. Tell our readers a little bit about who you are!
Alan: PSRT is a highly specialized Brisbane-based company that offer services in medical and emergency response, specialist security and training, working particularly within the resource and mine and gas sectors. In just six months PSRT has experienced exponential growth and its success has been to differentiate on the type of services PSRT provides. The opportunity to make our mark in 2014 came when we were offered the opportunity to put in place bodyguards and paramedical solutions for the G20 World Leaders Summit held in Brisbane. We exceeded our client’s expectations, providing an outsourced security and emergency service model that has not been matched by our competitors.
The/Studio: Congratulations on your company’s success! What does your business do?
Alan: There are few providers in Australia capable of providing dedicated security and emergency services in remote areas, with both the organization skill and physical capabilities that PSRT can offer.
PSRT provides 24 hour coverage with highly qualified personnel fully equipped with the latest fire and emergency medical technology. The on the ground staff are supported by some of the most experienced emergency management and security practitioners in Australia with backgrounds from the Police, Military, and the Fire & Ambulance Services.
PSRT also develops and provides a full suite of Emergency Response Plans, Event and Emergency Management and training and implementation systems for the Senior Site Officials. PSRT provides a broad spectrum of security services in high-risk environments for critical infrastructure facilities and projects across a range of industries including hospitality. We have grown quickly as our clients seek a client-focused and responsive alternative to the more established industry providers.
The/Studio: What have you learned since starting your organization or business?
Alan: Embrace your competitors as they too have walked in your shoes. There is lots to be learned from their experiences and not all of them want to see you fail. Value opportunities to network with competitors and share knowledge and resources to support one and other.
The/Studio: What about your business are you most proud of?
Alan: Easy! Our professional staff and our strong relationships with our clients.
The/Studio: What are some of the greatest challenges you face with your business?
Alan: One of our biggest challenges was undoubtedly how to easily, affordable and effectively go national. As a start-up business, how does one compete with established market players while effectively reaching customers around the Australia and internationally?
The/Studio: Where do you see your business in 10 years?
Alan: I see PSRT as an industry leader in medical and emergency response, specialist security and training, we’ve been expanding at a rapid rate. I expect PSRT to become a large company that makes a very big impact on the resource and hospitality sectors and does a lot to give back to the community. I want PSRT to be the best Public Safety Response Company, helping the biggest and the best brands be successful and build a safe environment for all.
The/Studio: What type of legacy do you want to leave?
Alan: A positive one! Not the biggest but the most committed. I’d like PSRT to be remembered for our uncompromised commitment to the public safety on behalf of our clients. To achieve this I have put steps in place from day one to ensure all our staff receive the most up to date training techniques, ongoing professional development and the latest lifesaving equipment in addition to strong leadership in the field.
The/Studio: What is the story behind the custom product that you produced with The/Studio?
Alan: The logo was designed with our core Public Safety specialised area Medical, Fire, Rescue and Security in mind. The star of life is a well-known and features blue, six pointed star, the rod of Asclepius in the center who was the Greek god of medicine and healing. We added the axes to integrate fire and rescue and the yellow shield represents our commitment to safety and security.
The/Studio:How are you going to use this custom product?
Alan: The PSRT logo badge has been designed for our uniforms. It will adorn our station wear shirts and rescue overalls worn on a daily basis by our experienced team of professionals.
