Clockwork Orange is a movie produced in 1971 and filmed mainly on location in London. The film was produced by Stanley Kubrick who was an American filmmaker that produced most of his work as an expatriate in the UK. The film was an adaptation of Anthony Burgess’ 1962 Novella also titled Clockwork Orange.
There has been renewed interest in the film and a US based Indie film group has recently been promoting the film in small venues around the United States. They wanted their staff that was involved in showing the film to have the original film poster embroidered on the back of the apparel, while showing the film. Originally they were going to screen print it on the back of their apparel, but they felt that screen printing would look a little bit tacky. They wanted to then embroider it directly onto the back of the garment, but the cost of direct embroidery were too expensive, and they were concerned that embroidery could not properly replicate the poster that they wanted to put on the back of their apparel. Our creative specialists Alan assured them that we could do a beautiful job of replicating their poster onto a patch. Furthermore, he was able to offer the customer a price that fit into their budget. The original poster is attached, along with the final result of the custom patch that we did for the Clockwork Orange organization showing the film. As you can see we did an amazing job of replicating the patch. We added our iron-on backing to ensure firmness in the patch despite the large size of the patch and the huge white twill area. Upon receiving the patch the customer wrote “Alan & everyone at The/ Studio, unbelievable job on my patch. I will for sure be ordering other stuff.Thx again” The patch prompted some of the staff in the company to watch the film. According to Wikipedia “It features disturbing, violent images, facilitating its social commentary on psychiatry, youth gangs, and other social, political, and economic subjects in a dystopian, future Britain. Alex, the main character, is a charismatic, sociopathic delinquent whose interests include classical music (especially Beethoven), rape, and what is termed “ultra-violence”. He leads a small gang of thugs (Pete, Georgie, and Dim), whom he calls his droogs (from the Russian ????, “friend”, “buddy”).” Sounds like a good movie right?
