Meet Timmy Yanchun, Our Customer of the Week
The/Studio: Introduce yourself. Tell our readers a little bit about who you are!
Timmy: Hello There! My name is Timmy Yanchun I am the co-founder of Svelte Men. A Men’s Grooming company that produces grooming products, shave tools and multiple locations of barbershop/man caves around the Los Angeles area.
The/Studio: It’s a pleasure to meet you, Timmy. What does your business do?
Timmy: We supply men with the finest hair and beard care around! We are also earth conscious, by volunteering and providing some of our proceeds to Heifer International, a charity helping to end world hunger and poverty.
The/Studio: That’s wonderful! What have you learned since starting Svelte Men?
Timmy: I’ve learned that it may not always be roses and sunshine, but if you’re doing something you care about and believe you are contributing to the fixing of a problem, you will create something beautiful.
The/Studio: That is very true. What about Svelte Men are you most proud of?
Timmy: The community that Svelte Men has created! These guys have become more self aware of their own styles and feeling good through our products and services, all while helping the earth. These guys are the heart and soul of Svelte Men and we couldn’t be more proud of that.
The/Studio: What are some of the greatest challenges you face with your business?
Timmy: Getting through to a demographic that can sometimes be fearful of change. A lot of guys are using the same old stuff with unnatural ingredients, aging and damaging their skin and hair; but once they see the light… they never look back!
The/Studio: I need to give some of your products to the men in my life! Where do you see Svelte Men in 10 years?
Timmy: I think that Svelte Men will be inspiration for other men’s grooming brands to not use the same old tricks, just because “it sells”. Clean and natural ingredients can be used to make better products and should be the next step in the evolution of how men care for their skin and hair.
The/Studio: What type of legacy do you want to leave?
Timmy: That we stayed consistent with our goals of creating products that make guys look and feel better about themselves, and helping to end world hunger and poverty.
The/Studio: What is the story behind the custom product that you produced with The/Studio?
Timmy: The patches that The/Studio created are so awesomely made. The patches have the Svelte Men logo on them which is of a penguin with the words Svelte Men. The word “svelte” was always used by my mother to describe us when my brothers and I would dress up in suits. Being a big reader she had an awesome vocabulary and when I searched for the word in the dictionary, I was delighted to find out it meant “smooth or suave” in some contexts. The penguin to me always represented a smooth, humble animal, and I think that represents the Svelte Men brand perfectly!
The/Studio: I love your logo. How are you going to use this custom product?
Timmy: The/Studio nailed it with my patches! Those patches will be put on custom Svelte Men hats to be sold on our website and given away through drawings.
The/Studio: We are so happy you like your patches! Do you have any promotions you would like to offer our community?
Timmy: You know it! We will pick one lucky person who follows us on Instagram in the next 2 weeks and be give away a Svelte Men hat.
The/Studio: Do you have any upcoming events that our community members can attend?
Timmy: We have some great things on the horizon, so follow us on any of our Social Media accounts @SvelteMen and visit any of our locations for a shave, haircut and a cold drink!
