51 years ago today , we lost the iconic Marilyn Monroe. I remember the first time I ever saw a Marilyn Monroe movie , I was 7 years old. I was visiting my grandparents and they were watching “Gentleman Prefer Blondes” . There she was in a red sparkly gown , dancing with Jane Russell. I was in awe! She captured the screen and captured my heart at that very moment. I had never seen a woman like this , Barbie couldn’t even compare! My fascination with her only grew with age.
Through the years my fascination with her has turned into admiration and respect. Because with age , I have really begun to understand who Norma Jean really was. She was not this dumb blonde that the media portrayed her to be. She was much more than her sex symbol persona. She was very intelligent and was an avid reader. She was also way ahead of her time , she started her own production team so she could gain full control over her craft , this was unheard of at this time. She never did gain , the respect she truly deserved and her depth was never truly felt. There will never be another Marilyn Monroe , she had the combination of innocence and sexuality. With a heavy heart , I want to remember her on this day , the 51st anniversary of her untimely death. Oh what could of been!
Below is a mock-up sample of an Marilyn Monroe patch that we are in the process of creating. This custom patch is going to be beautiful. We will use 100% embroidery coverage on this custom emblem and we will use black and white threading. We will also use rhinestones for her earrings.
In honor of the beautiful Marilyn Monroe , we will be giving away 5 of these one of a kind Marilyn Monroe patches to the first 5 people that like this post on Facebook.
