  • What exactly is The/Studio?

    The/Studio is the answer to the question “How do I make this?”

    We help creators with good ideas make quality apparel goods and accessories. Working with us, you receive free design assistance and access some of the greatest factories in the world, risk-free. That lets you sit back, relax and create.

  • Where are you located?

    We’re headquartered in Downtown Los Angeles. We also have offices in China, the Philippines, and Romania. That means a manufacturing support staff that never sleeps until your project is at your doorstep.

  • How can I contact you?

  • How long will it take to ship my finished patch?

    Shipping hinges primarily on your location, but we can use expedited services to ensure that your delivery meets your deadline. If you have one, please tell your representative right away so we can work towards beating it.

  • How do you ship your product?

    We ship primarily via UPS and DHL, although we may user other courier services when a deadline or destination requires it.

  • Can I make special shipping requests?

    We’re happy to do our best to accommodate any requests, from production to shipping. Please note that we are bound by courier services’ limitations.

  • How much does shipping cost?

    We offer FREE shipping on all standard orders! If you request an expedited turnaround time, your representative will inform you of any charges that may apply.

  • Do you ship to APO/FPO boxes?

    Yes, we can. We proudly create thousands of patches for members of the armed forces. Please remember that your order, like everything else being shipped to APO/FPO boxes, may take a little longer to arrive!


  • What do I need to submit to get my order started?

    You’ll need to fill out the quote form above so we get the general details of your order. You can also submit artwork, sketches, reference images, et cetera, so we get a better idea of your vision. If there’s any additional information we need, your representative will reach out to you.

  • What kind of mockups can I expect?

    You’ll receive a digital mockup once your design has been created by our team. After you approve your mockup, we’ll produce a physical sample of the patch and send you images from the factory. Additionally, you can request to receive a physical sample in the mail – note that this will add time to your overall production timeline as well as a shipping fee.

  • What if I’m not happy with the design?

    We are happy to make as many edits as necessary to make your design perfect.. You’ll be able to communicate with our team throughout the process via a dedicated customer dashboard that lets you make note directly on your design. Please note that a prolonged editing process will add time to your overall production timeline, so clear descriptions are a must for minimizing the number of edits required. You can even upload images or sketches to help show us your idea.

  • What can I expect once I approve the design?

    Once you approve your final sample, your patch order will go into full production! We’ll notify you of this as well as the moment it ships, providing tracking information so you can watch it all the way to your door.

  • How long does it take to make my patch?

    Each order’s turnaround time depends on your design and its complexity. During the design and manufacturing processes, your representative will be able to provide you with delivery and shipment estimates — you’ll also receive email updates as your order makes it way through our system.


  • Is there a minimum order quantity?

    Our minimum order quantity is ten patches. However, we’re happy to discuss pricing and quantity options for special orders.

  • What are your prices?

    Since each patch is unique, pricing is provided in the individual quote process — meaning you get the best possible price for the options and design you request. You can get a custom quote in your inbox within seconds by filling out the quote form above.

  • Do you have more customization options that aren’t listed here?

    Yes, we do. Through our vast network of factories, we have access to literally hundreds of special options. Tell your representative what you’re envisioning and they’ll be happy to suggest options that suit your design.

  • How long does the ordering process take?

    Each order’s turnaround time depends on your design and its complexity. During the design and manufacturing processes, your representative will be able to provide you with delivery and shipment estimates — you’ll also receive email updates as your order makes it way through our system.

    We’re often capable of meeting tight deadlines if we know about them as soon as possible. If you have a specific deadline, please tell your representative right away so we can work with you to beat it.


  • Will I get a sample before my entire order is sewn-out and shipped?

    We typically provide a free sample photo for your approval through email before we move your order into full production. We can ship a physical sample from an actual run, but this will entail a fee in addition to a longer shipping period.

  • Do you have a minimum order quantity for embroidered patches?

    No, we don’t. If you’re looking for a no-minimum patch producer, we’re one of the few folks who do that. Still, we recommend that if you’re going the through trouble to order one patch, you might as well have a dozen or more made — your sales representative would be happy to show how the per-price unit goes down tremendously after even ten items. That’s because we spread the cost of your unique custom patch’s set-up across however many that you order.

    That said, if you want something that’s truly one of a kind, you’ve come to the right place. We’ll be happy to make a limited edition run of just one.

  • Where will my patch be made?

    We work with an international network of factories to fulfill our orders — in places from China and the Philippines to the United States and beyond. Your order will be matched with the factory that can best execute your design. If you have specific production requirements like made-in-the-USA,  we’re happy to make accommodations.

  • Is there a final quality check?

    Yes. After your patches have been manufactured, they are checked at the factory and double-checked at our distribution center to ensure design fidelity and quality. If there are any issues, we will notify you and work together to address any issues.
