Not quite yet. Eventually, we’ll be introducing this option as expand our production capabilities. Your private mint is coming soon.
Most of our customers choose brass, which is the ideal compromise between cost, durability and ability to receive detail. It receives a finish well and consistently yields a flawless cut on our worktables; most designs that you see here were cut from brass.
Customers looking for something thrifty and have a simpler design can use iron, which provides pleasant weight to a coin but can’t accommodate precise designs. Additionally, iron scratches and nicks more easily during the crafting process, making it ill-suited for any design requiring a finish as natural blemishes will become more apparent.
We also offer a zinc-alloy for jobs requiring the utmost precision in fine lettering or details. While among our most expensive metals, it’s recommended for coins that feature demanding designs — your customer representative will know whether your project might need this high-grade material or not.
Of course, we do other metals depending on your need, like light-weight aluminum for challenge coins that feel light as air. As always, just ask.
We put a lot of thought into our prices. Some of the more important variables are quantity, stylistic add-ons, size and “surface area” of the modifications — i.e., how much printing does the project require? Additionally, challenge coins may require a specially-constructed die just for your design, depending on your selection.
The person most equipped to give you a price for your product is your sale representative or our useful Create Your Product tool — both can give you a detailed analysis of your quote and what things featured into our per-item price.
Our coins are either alloys or are plated in such a way to prevent oxidation or that slight metallic discoloring some metals gets over the years when exposed to the elements. We also offer protective cases that can further dispel discoloration.
Technically, everything, given enough time, will react to some degree with oxygen as the universe becomes more randomized. Even our customized products are victims of entropy.
No, we don’t. If you’re looking for a no-minimum coin producer, we’re one of the few folks who do that. Still, we recommend that if you’re going the through trouble to order one, you might as well have a dozen or more made — your sales representative would be happy to show how the per-price unit goes down tremendously after even ten items. That’s because we spread the cost of your unique custom coin’s set-up across however many that you order.
That said, if you want something that’s truly one of a kind, you’ve come to the right place. We’ll be happy to make a limited edition run of just one.
