Metta World Peace x THE/STUDIO

1. Innovative uniforms for a legendary name

Metta World Peace is more than a former NBA champion. He is a cultural figure who inspires young athletes around the globe. When his academy partnered with 37 Partners to produce uniforms for the next generation of players, THE/STUDIO was tasked with delivering professional quality gear worthy of his name. The project included not only youth uniforms but also a custom-designed coach’s set for Metta himself.

2. A collection designed for impact

The order consisted of 91 full uniforms: 90 sets for kids and one oversized set tailored specifically for Metta. The children’s uniforms were produced in multiple sizes to accommodate heights from 150 cm up to 210 cm. Each set included both jersey and shorts, constructed from moisture wicking and breathable fabric to match the quality of professional grade uniforms.

The numbering system added a unique twist. Jerseys from 1 to 87 alternated between white and black, creating two balanced color variants. Three special jerseys all carried the number 37 to honor Metta’s connection to 37 Partners, while Metta’s own teal blue coach’s jersey proudly displayed “Coach” across the front.

3. Recognition of specialized teams

Design details were critical to this collaboration. The front of each custom jersey featured “37 Partners,” while the back carried the bold word “Moneyball.” Numbers and lettering were applied through high quality heat transfer for durability. Shorts carried logo placements on both legs, creating a cohesive and professional look.

Colors were selected carefully to reflect both energy and identity. White and black made up the core collection, accented by teal blue and deep Moneyball blue to give Metta’s own jersey a standout presence. Each uniform followed unique patterns, ensuring every piece reflected the visual language of the project.

4. Tailoring for the next generation

The scale of the project required more than mass production. Sizes had to be customized for a full range of young athletes, including an exceptionally tall 210 cm player whose jersey required special attention to labeling. By providing precise fit and consistency across all sets, THE/STUDIO ensured every player received a uniform that felt like it was made just for them.

5. Results that inspire

The uniforms were delivered to Shanghai, ready to be worn by a new wave of basketball players inspired by Metta World Peace. The collaboration brought professional grade design and construction to young athletes while celebrating Metta’s lasting influence as both a coach and mentor. For THE/STUDIO, it was an honor to create uniforms that combine function, identity, and inspiration for one of basketball’s most respected names.
